I guess this is the right place to post this? Not sure if anyone checks this forum.
Is anyone else struggling with Adele’s weight loss being praised by the media? It’s started to make me more ashamed of my body more than I have in a long time. It makes me feel like I am “less” than I was at a lower weight.

Weight loss / body image
Yeah, I get what you mean. Oh boy, this public figure lost all of this weight (just like society is constantly be pressuring us to do!!) so we sorta gotta heap all this praise on them, even if in the back of our minds we suspect that something…not that healthy…may have been going on to produce those results.
But even if that were the case, what's our excuse for not doing the same, because look at how much "better" she's become !!
So yeah, lots of mixed messages that's for sure. An lots of messages that play on guilt too.
You should not be ashamed of how you look in the mirror from my perspective. Personally, I think we should love ourselves no matter how we look. Anyway, I've just shared my personal opinion, so please don't be negative towards it.
Your advice is in dieting mindset and extremely dangerous ans detrimental to us who deal with eating disorders. It dies not belong on a PRO RECOVERY WEBSITE.

It actually passes me off more than anything. It makes me feel like she was lying, or anyone who's famous who's in a bigger body, when she and others females who are famous, who say they love their bodies then go and lose a bunch of weight. Plus, we don't know to what lengths they went to to lose the weight, or if they did it the healthy way. I hope this helps some. I'm sorry it hurt you. I've been there too.
Definitely struggled with this -- her and Rebel Wilson as well.
I am tired of seeing media praising all these people for losing weight. I never truly paid too much attention to it since I have never struggled with my self image. But my wife, the love of my life and high school sweetheart has had troubles since I met her and I wish she would see how beautiful she is no matter her weight!
Here I have the most wonderful person I could ever meet and she is constantly tormented thinking she is worth nothing because she has always been plus size, and struggling with eating disorders and other mental health issues.
I am tired of the entire society doing the same, because I see people and how they treat her just because she is not the skinniest person. Ladies and gentelman, you are beautiful exactly how you are, do not fall into these lies
If you want to get good results, you can't pick just one thing. Proper nutrition and training together can get your body where you want or feel comfortable in. Healthy food is the key to internal health, and your body shape depends on your genetics. It is unlikely that chemical supplements will solve weight problems. They can only harm your health. Surgery is a last resort when nothing works.

It can be really tough to see the media praising certain body types, especially when it makes you feel like you're not measuring up. But I want you to know that your worth is not tied to your weight or your appearance.
I just stumbled upon this forum and saw your post. I, too, am looking for support to reach my fitness goals. I can imagine that this forum may not be the most active, but you're definitely not alone in struggling with body image. There are plenty of resources and support systems out there to help you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. I recently searched the Internet for such sites and found recipe for https://recipeforresults.co.uk/personal-trainer-shenfield/.
I don't know to what extent it will be effective for you. But you should also remember that what doesn't work for one person may work for another.
