Therapists and Dietitians

What is the difference between a dietitian and a eating disorder therapist. Can either one create a meal plan? Also, are they willing to listen to how I would like to increase my food or will they make me a very strict plan?

A eating disorder therapist is just a regular therapist that specializes in working with people with eating disorders. So like the feelings/thoughts, why you feel or think those things, and any underlying issues (because EDs are never just about food) A dietician will be more the food and weight (if that is an issue) piece. They will talk with you about what you eat, how much to eat, how often, ect. So the dietician will be the one to talk to regarding the meal plan. They will hear you out and form a mutually agreed upon plan. However, they will push your comfort zone, that is what they are supposed to do. I hope this answered your question.
