Strange physical symptoms

I never really purged my food, but I tried X times last week, once I had a sure throat and stomach ache after. Since then I keep having some physical problems. I feel weak and sleepy all the time, my stomach hurts. Sometimes I find it difficult to breathe. I was wondering, could the attempts of throwing up be the cause, even though I didn't actually do it?

It kind of sounds like

It kind of sounds like gastroparesis to me, but I don't see why it would be caused by vomiting.

You might want to see a doctor.

I still have lots of thoughts

I still have lots of thoughts and anxiety about food, but I convinced my mum to get me an appointment by a specialist. They told I have to wait quite a lot though, at least until May.
Thank you for asking, what about you? How are you doing?

Hi. Good to hear from you. I am glad that your Mom is going to help you see someone to get you help. I am sorry it is so far away though. Do you have anyone you can talk with? To help you get to your appointment? You can always post here. We are here for you. Can you talk back to the thoughts? Say no when the negative thoughts are really intrusive? I know it isn't easy. Find something you like to do to focus on when you are feeling badly. I color Mandala's, read and post here. I have a fairly full life, but know that you don't have to give in to the thoughts. You will learn ways to cope better when you start therapy but until then, just do your best. You can start the work now, you don't have to wait until your appointment. It won't be easy. But try to learn at least one thing that can help carry you over until your appointment. Keep us posted.

Hang on

Hi- just want to say I understand how negative thoughts can occur so easily and how hard it is to manage them. I have had my ED lifted from me for several months but today was struck by thoughts of being "fat" because of a food choice I made. I journal to put things in perspective and practice acceptance to take the power out of the thoughts. Positive self-talk on a daily basis seems to be crowding out the bad thoughts as well. I hope you get an appointment before May and hope you will keep posting here for support, it helps.
