Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Marshall is an accomplished psychologist who has dedicated her career to helping people who experience mental health conditions through treatment, support and education. Dr. Marshall is a nationally known mental health expert in the area of suicide prevention and mental health. She has spent over 25 years in clinical, academic and non-profit mental health organizations. Her commitment to supporting those with lived experience who are impacted by eating disorders, mental health concerns, and suicide comes from a deep awareness of the impact that these concerns have had on her own family. Prior to coming to NEDA,  she served as the Vice President of Mission Engagement at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where she led several national partnership initiatives and served as a clinical advisor on several national mental health communications campaigns. Her extensive clinical experience spans community mental health, college counseling, outpatient and private practice settings. Dr. Marshall holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Georgia State University and Masters and Bachelors degrees from The College of New Jersey. She joined NEDA as CEO in July 2023.

Jessica Scheer

Chief Operating Officer

Jessica is an avid social cause capacity builder. She returned to NEDA in March 2023 after serving as a consultant to justice-oriented and New York-based social sector organizations. As a consultant and nonprofit leader, she has helped organizations raise millions of dollars and increase their impact. She has been an Executive Director and CFO at nonprofits who are leaders in their issue areas such as the EB Research Partnership and DoSomething.org. During her first term at NEDA from 2017-2019, she strengthened financial operations, created impact measurement systems, and led the program and development teams to new strategic growth. She holds a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from The New School.

Director, Education

Liz joined the NEDA team in 2014 and manages NEDA’s educational resources. Prior to this role, Liz worked on NEDA’s Helpline for 8 years to grow Helpline services and expand its reach over various platforms to support individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Prior to NEDA, Liz received specialized training to treat eating disorders. She received her BA from Princeton University and her MS in social work from Columbia University.

Shivani Dutt (she/her)

Senior Associate, Resources

Shivani’s journey at NEDA began in 2018 as a Helpline volunteer. She later transitioned to a staff member on the Helpline and now brings her experience of helping folks locate information and treatment options to expanding NEDA’s website resources for those seeking help. In her current role, Shivani manages relationships and collaborations through community outreach, oversees the online screening tool, maintains research study, support group, and treatment option listings, as well as coordinates the Feeding Hope Fund Grant process.

Gabe Gavito, M.S. (He/Him)

Senior Manager, Programs

Gabe’s journey at NEDA began as a volunteer before joining the staff in 2013. Gabe leads NEDA’s volunteer program, Campus Warriors, and supports other mission-centered initiatives. He has proudly trained and mentored over a thousand volunteers, many of whom have pursued careers as clinicians, researchers, and advocates within the eating disorders field. Driven by compassion and an unwavering dedication to those impacted by eating disorders, Gabe is committed to creating space for everyone to support NEDA’s mission through volunteerism. He holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Mercy University.

Morgan Gleeson

Morgan Gleeson (She/Her)

Walk Associate

Morgan began volunteering with NEDA as a walk coordinator in 2018. After struggling with her own eating disorder for years before, she found such joy in being able to help facilitate events that truly embodied a sense of connection among those in the recovery community, no matter what part of their journey they were on. After continuing to volunteer for 5 more years, she joined the walks team in 2024. In her role as a walk associate, she works with walk ambassadors to help make sure that each walk has everything it needs to be as engaging and impactful as possible. She is so grateful for all the connections and friendships she has made throughout all her opportunities with NEDA. Outside of work, Morgan is a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, spends lots of time with her friends and family, and enjoys traveling.

Nia Grey (She/Her)

Associate Manager, Communications

Nia joined the staff team in 2022.  As a Communications professional, she is responsible for planning, creation, and implementation of communication strategies across various digital platforms. This involves managing social media channels, curating compelling content, fostering audience engagement, and evaluating analytics for performance refinement.

Priya James (She/Her)

Associate Director of Community Engagement

Priya joined the NEDA staff team in 2022 after serving as the walk coordinator for the Houston NEDA walk for nearly a decade. Priya’s experience and passion as a former NEDA volunteer continue to drive her primary mission: to nurture a walk volunteer community committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for individuals struggling with eating disorders.  As an individual with lived experience, Priya is driven by her desire to educate and raise awareness about eating disorders. Her efforts are especially focused on addressing cultural contexts where issues of mental health illnesses are often overlooked or underestimated.

Nadine LaFleur

Office Manager/Administrative Assistant

Nadine began working at NEDA as an administrative assistant in 2016 and currently coordinates administrative tasks throughout the company. Nadine, in particular, helps the development department with the logistics of the NEDA Walks and other fundraising initiatives. She is deeply committed to assisting people who suffer from eating disorders.

Connor Lillis

Connor Lillis, MPA (He/Him)

Associate Director of Advancement

Connor is an advocate for progressive social change and thrives through building community. A North Carolina native, now based in New York City, Connor has fundraised and executed community engagement campaigns for organizations like New York University, Artsplosure, The ArtsCenter, and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. When away from his desk, Connor enjoys playing board games, TTRPGs (like Dungeons & Dragons), volunteering for the Working Families Party, and spending afternoons in the park with his partner, Anthony, and his pitbull, Cooper. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University.

Athena McDowall

Walk Associate

Athena began working with NEDA in 2022 when they began to re-introduce in-person walks after having only virtual walks for a few years. Athena volunteered as a walk coordinator for the Philadelphia NEDA Walk while also attending school at Rutgers University to obtain her Masters Degree in Social Work. After graduating school in May of 2023, Athena moved down to Southern New Jersey right outside of the Philadelphia area to pursue a career in counseling. In January of 2024 Athena was brought on as a Walk Associate with NEDA in order to assist other walk coordinators with planning NEDA Walks in their own cities. Aside from her work with NEDA, Athena is also a Peer Support Group Coordinator with ANAD and a member of the Young Leaders Council with the Eating Disorders Coalition. Athena enjoys being able to provide other individuals with the same sense of community and support that she was able to receive at the very first NEDA Walk that she attended back when she was in high school and hopes to continue to make a positive impact on the lives of others through her continued work with NEDA.

Daniel Parr

Director, Fundraising Operations

Daniel joined the NEDA team in 2022 and is responsible for managing NEDA’s database, organizing our fundraising work, and supporting NEDA’s development partners and donors. Battling his own long-standing eating disorder, Daniel is committed to NEDA’s mission of creating a world without ED’s.

Taytem Raynor

Walk Associate

Taytem began working for NEDA in 2022 as an intern for the walks team. In 2023, Taytem was walk ambassador of the Seattle NEDA Walk and officially joined the staff as a Walks Associate, where she assists walk ambassadors with planning NEDA Walks in their own cities. Outside of work, Taytem enjoys exploring new coffee shops in the Seattle area and studying Mandarin.

Mollie Schlapp-Gilgoff, LMSW (She/Her)

Mollie Schlapp-Gilgoff, LMSW (She/Her)

Senior Associate, Resources

Mollie started as a volunteer at NEDA before joining the staff in 2018. During her time at NEDA, Mollie provided information and resources to those reaching out for help and later supervised volunteers and staff on NEDA’s Helpline. In her current role, Mollie is updating and revising the content for NEDA’s website and finding innovative ways to connect people with the information and resources they need. Having seen firsthand how devastating eating disorders can be, Mollie is passionate about helping others affected by eating disorders. She holds a Masters degree in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
