Hi all! I have made such internal progress. I have defines very specifically what recovery should look like for me. My reasons for wanting to recover are clear. My nutrionist and therapist both agree. I am fully mentally, emotionally committed to my meal plan. What I am struggling with however is beginning again to follow it. I felt so stable and calm when I had success following it for a couple of months. I had it as a goal that yesterday I would begin again. However, I am still coming off of a few days of bingeing and I'm having a hard time getting back to it bec my body is so screwed up from the binges. My nutriotnsut is gone for about a week now. Every am I am so full from what I ate in the middle of the night it's really hard to wake up and have my meal plan bfast. We all know how this ends though. How do I start? In the past,it's always taken me severa days to sort of recover from binges, but I'd eat less than my meal plan dictates to feel ok. I have not been doing that but as such cant get back on meal plan and I al desperate to do it and do it right. I'm done cheating the plan which just cheats myself. Weirdly I'm ok for the first time ever w my weight. At 44 I just don't care any more. I care how I feel and the starving and bingeing don't feel good.

You can do this!

Hi Mameegan,

What you're going through is completely understandable. I appreciate your honesty. The great thing is that since you have already experienced a time where you were able to stick to your meal plan, you know that you have everything it takes to get back to where you want to be. I know how hard it can be to get back on a meal plan the day after a binge. The best thing that worked for me was to just start the meal plan regardless. Even if I could still feel the binge from the night before in my belly. That was the only way I was ever able to stop the cycle. For additional support I would definitely contact NEDA. All you have to do is call 1-800-931-2237 between 9am - 9pm Monday through Thursday and 9am - 5pm on Fridays. - All EST.

Best of luck!

Hopefully you’ve made some

Hopefully you’ve made some progress since you initially posted. I just wanted to say that I agree with what LoveJD said. I understand far too well how difficult it is to get back on track the day after a binge [or the day after two straight weeks of binging], but the only way I’ve ever successfully broken the cycle is by starting fresh the next day with a healthy meal. I’ve tried a countless number of times to restrict the day after a binge, and that only ever ends with another binge later that same day. I know how difficult it is, but I encourage you to just get through that first day on your meal plan and I know that you will start feeling better after just a few days!
