COVID-19 is creating unprecedented challenges for individuals who are receiving eating disorder treatment or those who are planning to seek professional help. The following are some treatment centers nationwide that are offering virtual programming in this time of crisis. This list will be updated as we learn more about new facilities offering similar services.

Acute Center for Eating Disorders

Services: ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders continues to operate as usual, accepting admissions daily and delivering life-saving care to patients with severe and extreme eating disorders during this challenging time. 

The ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders at Denver Health Medical Center is uniquely equipped to treat the most serious eating disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic. As you assess referral options for your patients, consider our extensive expertise in treating all co-occurring medical complications in patients combined with our unmatched ability to practice social distancing, protect patient safety and control infection in our private patient rooms and hospital-based unit.


Balance Eating Disorder Treatment Center

Regarding groups: Offering virtual Contemplating Recovery support groups. Two on the first Saturday of the month and two on the second Saturday of the month. 

The groups are open to individuals and loved ones. Anyone who would like to attend can sign up here.  


Center for Change

Locations in UT & ID


Services: Virtual PHP, IOP and OP available throughout Utah and Idaho, outpatient therapy and dietary visits with providers via telehealth. They are accepting patients of all genders, ages 14+, who are struggling with an eating disorder and co-occurring conditions. They are still accepting admissions to their inpatient and residential programs.


Center For Discovery Programs

Services: Partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs are operating virtually and accepting new clients.

Residential programs are open and are programming in-person and accepting new patients with visitation and family programming happening virtually.  They have also added additional virtual support groups for patients, support systems, and professionals. 


The Emily Program

Services: Virtual outpatient, intensive outpatient and intensive day/partial hospitalization programs. They are still accepting admission to their residential programs. 


Fairwinds Treatment Center

Services: Increased teletherapy services for some levels of care for both existing and new patients. Additionally, in response to the spread of COVID-19, their admissions process and visitation are now being held online through Telehealth and video conference services. For more information visit:


Melrose Center

Services: Virtual outpatient services, and a virtual partial hospitalization program. They are still admitting patients to their residential programs. 


Milestones Program

Services: They remain open to serve both local and out of area patients, while following strict screening and best practice guidelines for the ongoing pandemic. They are able to accommodate a small group of residential, as well as, outpatient participants.

Residential beds are limited to 10 clients and are following federal, state, and local guidelines.

They still have a few beds available for those in need of a safe, structured setting to get help with their eating disorder and related issues.

Services: Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs will be operating virtually starting Friday, March 27th. Virtual Customized Recovery Services- therapeutic treatment groups and meal support are also being offered starting May 13th.

Services: Virtual IOP treatment for clients who step down from the PHP program. The PHP programming continues in person with special attention to limiting group sizes and following social distancing and Covid-19 safety protocol.

Renfrew Treatment Centers

Services: The Renfrew Centers of Baltimore, MD; Bethesda, MD; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Mt. Laurel, NJ; Nashville, TN; New York City, NY, Orlando, FL; Paramus, NJ; Philadelphia – Center City, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Radnor, PA; West Palm Beach, FL; and White Plains, NY are offering Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Programming online.

Beginning March 20th, all additional outpatient sites will be providing these services, including The Renfrew Centers of Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles, CA.

They are accepting patients at their residential facilities in Philadelphia, PA and Coconut Creek, FL.


Rogers Behavioral Health 

Multiple locations

Services: Virtual treatment option for patients who would benefit from PHP or IOP level of care. They will attempt to continue limited onsite treatment if patients cannot participate in a telehealth model. Additionally, their inpatient and residential levels of care in Wisconsin continue to accept patients onsite at this time, and they have immediate availability in several programs.

Walden Behavioral Care
