Worried

I am worried about my physical health these days because of my eating disorder. My circulation has worsened and I have dizzy spells sometimes. I need more help than what my team has been offering and I don't know how to ask for the help I need. I don't know how to let go of the control. I want to get better. What do I do?

So glad you reached out for help. I am also the one to reply to your other post so I won't bore you with the same information that I posted there. It sounds like if you are having these physical symptoms, it might be time to get help a step above of what you are getting now. Inpatient can be a place for you where you can work towards recovery and have professionals to help when feeling those physical effects. You really begin to realize the effects that the eating disorder is having when your body starts to shut down. It's scary! I totally understand that. It makes you want to get better but the ED prevents you from getting better. BUT there is hope! I hope that you follow some of the links from my other response and seek the help that fits your need most.

Having these physical symptoms definitely requires medical attention and it's important to bring them up to your doctor and care providers. These signs can be unpredictable and it's best to tackle them earlier rather than later. I know that can be difficult, but just remember that your treatment team is on your side and their JOB is to help you recover. The more information you can share with them, the better they can help you. After all, they chose to be medical care providers with the motivation to help people just like you who are struggling with these types of symptoms - you're not alone and more importantly, you DESERVE to find peace and a feeling of control over your own life! I mentioned some resources in my reply to your other post, but I want to reiterate that the NEDA Helpline can be a great resource - it's free and confidential. Keeping track of your symptoms in writing (how often, if they worsen/get better at certain times, etc.) can also help keep you accountable so you have something concrete to share with your doctors, even if you feel uncomfortable at the actual appointment.
