Starting my journey.

Tomorrow starts my first day if recovery. I'm a little nervous, scared of gaining. So I decided to tell my mom today. So I need advice. I don't wanna gain a lot. Even though I'm gonna work out this is gonna be a real challenge. I'm so beyond scared. All I can think about is that I'm gonna get fat. I've seriously been crying all night, just thinking about recovery. I know I'm gonna gain and I don't want to. :(

Support!!

Hi there! Thank you so much for your post!

You have such a strong and determined spirit! Choosing to fight the ED is so brave of you!! Recovery is possible and you have already taken some huge steps towards achieving this!!

Have you considered involving a therapist or a doctor in your recovery journey? I think that it is always a great idea to involve many different types of support for us especially during the beginning stages of recovery! A therapist will always provide great insight into skills you can use during the challenging times and a therapist will always provide you with non-judgmental support!

If you are not sure where you can find a therapist or a doctor who can help with the ED, the NEDA Helpline is here to help! All you need to do is call 1-800-931-2237 and a representative will be there to help find resources in your area!

Another great resource is called the NEDA Navigator program! It is a free form of support and advice. You are paired with a Navigator who has experience recovering from an ED. They provide free, private support! Here is a link to learn more!

I hope this is a great way to start our conversation! Please let me know if you have any questions!
