The Power of Breath

“I already know how to breathe….” said to me by a participant in my Breathwork workshop!

Notice, she said this while participating IN my workshop…LOL!

I hear that often.

Our Breath is unique. Breathing is unique. Folks take their Breath for granted. Many assume the next life enhancing/giving inhale will arrive… like: poof!

When you take a moment to think about it, it is mind blowing that the Breath just shows up… our inhale and exhale happen with NO effort from us…. What a gift.

Up and down our spine, signals are sent from the respiratory control center in the brain to the muscles involved in our breathing.

These signals ensure our breathing muscles contract and relax with ease and regularity. This allows our breathing to happen automatically, without us being aware or with putting forth any effort.

Breathing takes no thought from you.

Now… When we DO put a bit of consciousness/thought to our Breath, it opens the door of life and gives us the expansion to soar!

Your Breath leads the way to healing your mind and body.

By connecting the inhale to the exhale with no pause in between, you begin to relax into the flow of your Breath, your Breath begins to flow/breathe you!

As your Breath flows in you and through you, major transformation/transcendence takes place… mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Medically speaking Breathwork supports us to release cortisol/stress from our body.

Too much cortisol/stress in the body can equal:

  • Panic attacks
  • Stress
  • Brain fog
  • Exhaustion
  • Insomnia
  • Indigestion
  • High blood pressure
  • …and more

With a Breathwork practice, you increase your good feeling endorphins by decreasing your cortisol/stress levels.

When we release cortisol/stress and increase our good feeling endorphins this is called homeostasis in the body.

Homeostasis = heart centered, focused, and calm.

Homeostasis is not the normal state of living for most human beings.

We live in a 24/7 culture… cell phones and other electronic devices are ALWAYS ON and many feel obligated to respond immediately!

When our mind and bodies are being overly stimulated by forces out of our control, our Breath is our guide to peace!

Your Breath can lead you from anxiousness to relaxed calm and a focused mind.  That is homeostasis!

Your Breath has the potential to slow your heart rate, quiet your mind, help you sleep, and MORE:

  • Decrease stress
  • Increase focus
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Aid digestion
  • Increase energy
  • Enhance confidence
  • Reinforce clarity
  • Expand self love
  • Improve your memory
  • Enhance your immune system

Your Breath can be a key part to enhanced overall wellness!

What I hear EVERY time someone has experienced a Breathwork session with me for the first time, or if they have been taking Breathwork sessions with me over a period of months/years is:

“OMG! I feel so relaxed and at peace.”

Yep… I get that response even from the ones who say, “I already know how to breathe!”

LOL!

I love what I do, and I am honored I get to witness folks unfurl with the Breath… to open to love, open to their inherent limitlessness, and open to living life fully!

The Breath gives us insight into the phenomenal potential within our BODIES and MINDS.

If you’re interested, I have created a Breathwork session especially for YOU to experience, enjoy, and relax with the Breath.

Enjoy!
