Help Increase Funding for Eating Disorders Research

We’re working hard to get more money allocated for eating disorders research, but we need your help.

A letter asking for $10 million in funding is circulating around the House of Representatives right now and we need to get YOUR representative’s name on it by the end of the day on Friday, March 31.

How Can You Help?

Federal research funding for eating disorders is very limited, with only $0.93 research dollars per person affected, but Congressman Costello of Pennsylvania, Congresswoman Pingree of Maine, Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen of Florida, and Congressman Deutch of Florida have written a letter to the Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, requesting $10 million for eating disorders research to help our military members and other Americans affected by eating disorders.

Through better treatments and intervention strategies, this research funding has the potential to save lives and benefit both the public at large and members of the military and their families, who are at an increased risk of eating disorders.

We need you to encourage your representative to add their name to this letter. The more lawmakers who sign on to the letter, the better our chances will be of securing this funding!
