National Eating Disorders Association

Friday, March 1, 2019
4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
3 Bow St.

CEDC supports National Eating Disorder Awareness Week with programmed learnings about eating disorders, sharing experiences and speaking out about what we can all do to help promote a healthy relationship with our bodies and food. CEDC treats individuals with eating disorders every day, so we see how easy it is for the wrong messages about food and body image to take hold. That’s why we want to spotlight the journeys of those who have recovered and provide a platform for speaking out on some best practices to help promote a healthy relationship with our bodies and food.

Join us for a panel and discussion with our psychologists, counselors, social media influencers and recovery speakers in a discussion about:

● How eating disorders manifest differently in different communities
● Social media’s influence on eating disorders
● How culture, community, family and media impact our relationships with our bodies
● How to challenge stigma with a conversation about body positivity, the movement behind it, and the importance of challenging media messaging.

The Cambridge Eating Disorder Center provides individuals suffering with eating disorders a comprehensive continuum of support services focused on their recovery. Our treatment programs focus on reducing the eating disorder symptoms while promoting the development of a healthy self that encompasses both emotional and physical well-being
