Moved to a new country

Hello all,
These forums have been a big help to me in the past, but this is my first post. I moved from the US to East Asia about a month ago, and I've been having a return of some ED thoughts and habits that I thought I had squashed. It's difficult in a new country- not knowing the grocery stores, difficulty reading menus, not being familiar with the veggies in the grocery store. I've been learning slowly, but being away from friends and family and support system has been difficult at times. Too often, all I want to do after work and all day on weekends is lay in my room alone. I think it's been over 24 hours since I last spoke to anyone.

I'm scared of what might happen if I allow myself to slip any more. I knew how to eat and maintain a balanced, healthy lifestyle at home, but it's different here. I'm learning, but it feels too slow. One of my neighbors (an older Indonesian woman) keeps commenting on my weight. I'm still a fit, healthy weight for me right now, but she keeps saying "Oh you're so thin!" It makes me worry I'm not doing enough to maintain recovery, and I don't feel particularly thin anyways. If anyone has had experience like this, let me know. Thanks for reading :)

Hi there, I am so glad you decided to reach out for support. Welcome. I can not imagine what you are going through moving to a new country. Is it temporary or long term. Do you know anyone there. Is there any support in your area? About the eating, do you have a meal plan? Are you able to work on following it? I can only imagine how difficult how is for you. Please continue to post and get support. I really don't know what to say except that we are here for you.

Hi, thanks for the support. I

Hi, thanks for the support. I'm here until next July. I don't have a nutritionist, but I do try to work on planning my meals in advance. I did think about joining a support group, but there's none in English so I came here :) I have 3 american friends/ co-workers here with me. I'd like to confide in one of them, but we don't really know each other that well yet, so I'm not sure how to do that.

Hey, I am glad that you have joined this and everyone is nice and always helpful. I hope it gets better for you. Hugs

Hi. I was just checking in to see how you are doing. I pray that you have a nice day.
