Hurting

I have tried to make this eating disorder go away by myself for the last few weeks and it will not go away. I feel terrible and want to binge eat more, my parents and sisters don't really understand what is going on with this. They don't get it and I wish they would, I don't know what to do.

Hi there, this is iwanttolive. I am sorry that you are struggling. I am glad that you posted asking for support. It is very difficult to recover form an eating disorder all by yourself. Support is so important. Do you have anyone you can talk to, a friend? I understand when you say your family doesn't understand you and the disorder. I experienced the same thing, and now that I am walking in recovery, my sisters don't give a hoot.

I am sorry for the binging. Almost always there is a reason for behaviors. I would non-professional, opinion, think seriously about reaching out for help, a therapist? Would you consider this? Again, recovering on you own is very difficult. But you want to stop and that is so important. The fact that you reached out for help here, and your desire to get better, are all great things. Having the "want to" makes it easier in a way, than pushing against the will to stay the same or deny there is a problem. So good for you that you desire freedom. Recovery is possible. As hard as it is and the work involved, recovery is possible. I am sorry you are hurting. I will say a prayer for you. Take care, and I hope to "see" you on the forum again. With love,

I'm so sorry you are hurting. I agree with iwanttolive's suggestions of not trying to beat this alone. It is very unfortunate when our family doesn't understand- mine never has either. Is there anyone else you can seek out for support? Unfortunately ED isn't something that just vanishes- it's all a process. Know that it's not at all your fault. I pray that you will able to be gentle with yourself in the midst of it all. Just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you're not alone. We're here for you <3
