help for a newbie

I don't know where to start. My daughter has been sick the past few days. blood pressure drops and her heart races. It gets better when she lays down and worse when she sits up or stands. I took her to the dr today and they instantly went into anorexia. She is a tiny girl. Has been all her life. So why all of a sudden do they just jump to that conclusion. Not only that she keeps telling me she doesn't have it. She eats in front of us. And she has always been honest. Can she have anorexia and not even know it. I know she doesn't have a body image issue. Not overly preoccuppied with her weight except to gain it. In fact she would be happy when she gained a pound or two. I am just confused. I don't know whether to think the doctors are right or to believe my daughter. She has had a lot going on emotionally. Which is the only indication that is making me lean towards this. But I just don't see her lying to me about this. To her dad maybe but not to me. In fact she told me she did have an issue years ago when her dad went through a divorce before me. But she swears she isn't doing that and hasn't done that in years. But the hear rate issue and blood pressure point that way. They of course did other tests so we are waiting for all that to come back. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi, fullofhope19. I understand your concern - especially with the uncertainty surrounding "is it an ED or not?". I hope that the test results are able to clear it up for you one way or another. I am not a parent myself, but I can certainly understand the emotions you are going through right now! Here are some links that may be helpful for you:

I hope that you are able to get some answers soon. It sounds like your daughter is lucky to have a loving and supportive parent!
