Hello, Starting Recovery Today

Hello there,
I'm officially at Day 1. I am so afraid. I still have my ugw in my head, but I'm pushing myself here to this site.
I'm hoping for support to keep going with recovery because it's best for my life, though in my head my ugw screams.. Early this morning I was thinking of quitting. I'm afraid I'll stop eating or binge.

I'll talk with anyone.

Hey CamillaBella, I think it

Hey CamillaBella, I think it is great that you came on here. I know it can be really scary with starting recovery and still having your goals in mind and not wanting to accept change. I struggle with that everyday. do know though that you deserve recovery and there will be ups and downs, but you seem very strong and that you want to get better and stop your eating disorder. are you seeing a counselor and/or dietitian if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you that means very

Thank you that means very much to me. I hope you are having a great day today in recovery. You are strong too! I am not seeing any professionals..all on my own with faith that I can conquer this.

Thank you so much! :) and you

Thank you so much! :) and you seem like a very brave person. if you ever need anything just write on here, also the NEDA helpline has a chat line during the day and a phone number to have extra support. Do you have friends and/or family that are helping you through this hard time?

Hi CamillaBella!

First off, I want to commend you on taking your first steps toward recovery! You have already made it through one of the hardest parts - deciding it's what you want and going for it. Have you put any thought into working with a professional treatment team? Recovery is not something that should be done alone. For successful recovery, professional help is needed. When we try to recover on our own, we don't always learn how to re-enter the world after ED. A professional treatment team can help teach coping mechanisms and provide the much needed support you need for the harder times.

Here is some information regarding recovery:

Here is where you can find a therapist or doctor in your area:

We really encourage you to not go at this alone. As you already probably know, an ED usually has a cycle of being dormant and then active, and this can happen many times over the course of many years. When our EDs are dormant, we may think we are fine or recovered, when actually the ED is just laying low and will revive itself. What are your thoughts on contacting a therapist or a doctor?

really bad many

really bad many uproaring emotions led to one massive binge. today isday 4. trying to find the light.

If you would like to talk I

If you would like to talk I am here for ya. Today was hard for me too. I thought I was having a break through and just over ate once again. Why is today hard for you if you don't mind me asking?

I don't even memory. Bingeing

I don't even memory. Bingeing is such a blur. I've been bingeing 4 days straight. God.
I need to get better. Nothing is working.

Hi CamillaBella -

I'm sorry you are having a hard few days. As you are experiencing, recovery alone is a very hard feat. Can we help you find a treatment professional? Working with a treatment team is really the only way to find true, lasting recovery.
