I want help

I have a eating disorder similar to Prader Willi syndrome that makes it so I have to live in a group home that treats this sort of issue. I have been in and out of 2 other group homes beside this one partly due to the food not being locked up and other reasons. Like I said,
my doctor thinks I have an eating disorder similar to Prader Willi except that in the past when I stole food I only would steal one or two things. The real reason I am reaching out is because some of the staff at my group home keep checking the pantry which I know they are supposed to do but they only do it when I'm awake and in my room but when I am in the living room or another part of the house they don't check it. When they walk by my room to check it they always look at me like I stole something even when I didn't. One of the staff has also told the other staff to watch me when I go in the office because there is sometimes food in there also and when I walk by the fridge or freezer they always check it. It just makes me so mad and is the main reason why I used to steal food. I tried talking to people about it but it seems that no one understands or cares. I would appreciate it if someone could respond to this message. Thank you.

Sorry you're dealing with this

Hey CassaCD!! I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, and I’m sorry you’re feeling misunderstood. It totally makes sense that you’re feeling mad! I would definitely recommend calling the helpline number in the above comment so you can talk to someone about it. I’m sure that the people in your home care about you, but maybe their misunderstanding is getting in the way of them helping you.

Keep calm

It is very understandable that you are acting irrationally. It is highly recommended that you give the helpline number that was provided in the previous comment a call so that you can discuss it with another person. I have no doubt that the folks in your home care about you, but it's possible that their lack of understanding is preventing them from providing assistance to you.
