Feeling alone

I am a 35 year old with disordered eating. Anorexic to be exact with bulimia that pops up as needed so I can be social without too much awkwardness. I must say that there is no more likely feeling than being in this position. People just don't get it. I had one doctor tell meet in crazy. Another sent me to a nutritionist. For the most part I leave it be because people get really weird about it. My wife tells me to just get over it.
I know what I do is not healthy. I know this is bad, but I can't stop. Emotion overrules logic here, which I guess is what people just don't seem to get.
At this point, I'm just lost.

No need to feel alone!!!

Hey there!!!

Thank you so much for finding these forums and trusting us with your situation! I hope I can be of some support for you!!!

I'm sorry that accessing resources has been difficult and quite honestly very unethical. Please know that what you are suffering through is worthy of quality, compassionate care!!!! Would you be willing to try seeing a specialist, such as a doctor or therapist? If you call NEDA's Helpline at 1-800-931-2237, a representative will help you find specialists in your area! Seeing a specialist is a great guarantee that you and your situation will be well received in a nonjudgmental manner, and they will truly know what next steps would be best for you!!

Recovery is definitely possible!!! It is a journey, for sure, but you already have the strength inside you to fight the ED and win. And, with a supportive network of caregivers and others, you will have resources for help during the tough times!!!!

Have you looked at NEDA's Stories of Hope? They are true stories of men and women who have fought the ED and won! Here is a link:

I hope this is a good start to our conversation!!! Please let me know if you need anything or if you questions!!!
