Christmas Day Binge

Yup..home alone and miserable on Xmas. Can't stop eating. Wanting this bottle of wine that I've been saving for my friends on New Years. More depressed than ever. Can't seem to pull myself out this time.

CamillaBella,

I am so sorry that you were alone and felt this way on Christmas Day. This is never the way somebody should ever feel, nonetheless on a holiday. I hope that this response finds you happier and pulled out from that dark place. Do your friends that you are seeing on New Years know about your problem? I'm sure they will be more than happy to support you!

I wanted to share this link which shows how to get past a hard time: http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/slips-lapses-and-relapses

Stay Strong! Just because you had a bad day, doesn't mean it has to be a bad life. I hope you have a much better New Years!

Don't lose hope!

CamillaBella,
Don't lose hope! You are NOT alone in problems with overeating and binging, especially around the holidays, and these things do not define your worth! I'm sorry to hear about your Christmas, but if you feel alone or depressed, remember that there is help out there. You deserve to escape from this negativity and live life to your full potential. Do you have someone you can talk to - friends, family, a doctor, therapist, etc? The NEDA Helpline is a great place to start (1-800-931-2237 M-R 9-5, F 9-9 EST) and the NEDA Navigators program (http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/neda-navigators) is another great resource for support. Having someone to share how you're feeling with can help offer another perspective and a professional can work with you to find the next best steps.
Wishing you all the best!
Nan
