Anyone with a teen son with ED?

Hi all
I am new to the ED world. My son starting showing signs over the last year but in last few months is when i realized weight loss was not due to growth/puberty.
I cannot find any support group for adolescents in my area.
Anyone also have a son we may be able to connect?
Also i would be interested in how inpatient and outpatient services differ.

Hi Momwith13yroldson. I'm

Hi Momwith13yroldson. I'm sorry to hear about your son. I personally don't have any children, but I have looked around NEDAs greater website and found some links that I think might be able to help you.
Here's what I found:

I'd also suggest checking out NEDA's helpline. Its available at 1-800-931-2237
You can speak to trained volunteers who can help you find resources in your area. They're available weekdays from 9-9pm and on Fridays from 9-5.

Best of luck, and keep us updated.

To momwith13yroldson

I have a 12 yr old son who will be 13 in 4 months. He has anorexia nervosa and bulimia. He is an inpatient at the eating disorder treatment center for children in Texas. We came here by the Children's Hospital of San Antonio. It is not uncommon for every 10 girls there's 6 boys with an ED that's what his doctor here told me. So please momwitha13yrold get in touch with me so we can talk about our sons. Thank you and take care
