National Eating Disorders Association

Annual report 2018

When we think about 2018, so many things come to mind: the fact that 238,000 people took the online screening tool, the Helpline answered more calls, chats, and emails than ever before, we had great legislative wins and continued to raise awareness. But the one thing that stands out the most is our merger with the Binge Eating Disorders Association. Joining forces makes us stronger and signals to the community that we are staying true to our strategic goal of reaching all people affected by eating disorders. At the forefront of our awareness building is a focus on removing the stigma and the stereotypes surrounding eating disorders and on sending a message that people of all sizes, races, genders, sexual identities, abilities, and in any socioeconomic status can struggle and are deserving of care. This merger enables us to do this with greater strength and reach.
