Combatting Negative Social Media Feeds
NEDA works hard to be leaders in the field by:
- Raising awareness about eating disorders,
- Reducing the stigma around the illness so that people feel more comfortable talking about their struggles and asking for help, and
- Changing the conversation about body image and body positivity.
However, we can’t do this all on our own. The internet and social media platforms can be incredibly harmful to those struggling with an eating disorder, but if you look in the right places it can also be supportive and even cathartic. There are so many people out there on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook helping NEDA to change the conversation and supporting our community. We want to give a special shout out to of all the influencers out there creating authentic and supportive content — thank you!
